A CDL, or Commercial Driver's License, is a special license required by law to operate certain types of vehicles for commercial purposes, such as large trucks and buses. Here is 5 reasons why 2023 is the right time to overcome this hurdle.

  1. Career opportunities: There is a high demand for commercial drivers, and this trend is expected to continue in the coming years. By getting a CDL, you could open up a variety of job opportunities in industries such as trucking, delivery, public transportation, and more.

  2. Job stability: As mentioned, the demand for commercial drivers is expected to remain high, which means that this can be a stable and reliable career choice. Additionally, many commercial driving jobs offer benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

  3. Good pay: Commercial driving jobs often come with competitive salaries, particularly for those with experience or specialized skills. Depending on the industry and type of vehicle you're driving, you could earn a good living as a commercial driver.

  4. Flexibility: Depending on the type of job you have as a commercial driver, you may have some flexibility in terms of scheduling or location. For example, some long-haul trucking jobs may offer the opportunity to travel across the country and see different parts of the United States.

  5. Personal growth: Finally, getting a CDL can be a way to challenge yourself and learn new skills. Driving a large commercial vehicle can be intimidating, but with proper training and experience, you can become a confident and skilled driver.

Of course, it's important to carefully consider whether a CDL is the right choice for you based on your interests, skills, and goals. However, if you're interested in pursuing a career as a commercial driver, there are many potential benefits to getting a CDL in 2023.

At Marrone Logistics CDL School in Freehold, NJ, we offer training for:

  • CDL Class A Automatic
  • CDL Class A Manual (Shift Stick)
  • CDL Class B
    (Box Truck)

The main difference between these two types of CDL training is the type of transmission that you will be learning to operate. CDL Class A Automatic involves learning how to operate a vehicle with an automatic transmission, while CDL Class A Manual involves learning how to operate a vehicle with a manual (stick shift) transmission.  In most states ,if you complete your DMV road test in a automatic vehicle you will have a manual tractor restriction which simply means you will be only permitted to drive an automatic tractor cab until you re-test in a manual tractor to remove restriction.

It completely depends upon your flexibility as you can self-schedule and pace your learning to accomodate your lifestyle. We offer a lifetime enrollment which means you can take as long as you need to complete your lesson package.  The length of our CDL training programs can vary based on the type of CDL you are pursuing and your individual progression. Our packages offer proficiency stages so you get all the fundamentals and incrementally more skills perfection as you increase in tiers. Our CDL Class A students typically range from 2 to 8 weeks, while our CDL Class B program can be completed in as little as 5 days.

The requirements for enrolling in our CDL School is the industry standard, In general, you must be at least 18 years old, have a valid CLP ( commercial Learner's Permit) and pass a DOT physical/medical exam. This will be checked and verified prior to enrollment.
